Kupang, klikinfopol.com. 27 October 2026 – The East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government warmly welcomed a delegation from the Jinggangshan People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, People’s Republic of China, at a friendly introduction event held in Kupang on Wednesday evening. This meeting marks the first step in building friendly ties and exploring mutually‑beneficial development cooperation between the two sides.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Johni Asadoma, a group of regents and deputy regents from several regencies across East Nusa Tenggara, alongside Tu Anbo, Executive Vice President of the Jiangxi People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and a delegation covering cooperation, education, technology, international relations and investment portfolios.

In his address, Johni Asadoma extended a welcome to all members of the visiting delegation. He emphasised that East Nusa Tenggara is endowed with abundant natural resources, rich cultural diversity, and substantial potential across agriculture, livestock farming, marine industries, fisheries and tourism — including the world‑renowned Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park.

Despite its vast potential, East Nusa Tenggara still faces a range of development challenges, from equitable access to education, healthcare and infrastructure to strengthening the local economy. For this reason, the regional government seeks partnerships, knowledge‑sharing and innovation from external collaborators to convert these assets into added economic value, create jobs and improve community welfare.

“For us, meaningful cooperation goes far beyond signed agreements. The partnerships we build must be rooted in mutual respect, deliver shared benefits, and produce tangible positive impacts for communities in both regions,” Johni stated.

The East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government also highlighted flagship local programmes including One Village One Product, Buy NTT Movement, NTT Mart and Dapur Flobamorata designed to strengthen community‑led economic growth. Johni expressed hope that the meeting would unlock concrete collaboration opportunities in production‑processing, investment and human‑resource capacity‑building, while looking forward to a planned visit by East Nusa Tenggara representatives to Jiangxi Province in November 2026.

Tu Anbo thanked the East Nusa Tenggara authorities for their warm reception and expressed his wish that the gathering would serve as a foundation for long‑term cooperation with the provincial government and its partner regencies.

Each attending regional head outlined their area’s competitive strengths: Rote Ndao and Sabu Raijua highlighted opportunities for the salt industry, seaweed production and tourism, while other regencies offered to explore cooperation aligned with their own leading local sectors. As a milestone launching‑point for the partnership, a cooperation document was signed between the Regent of Belu and the Chinese delegation.

The East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government stressed that this exploratory meeting is no mere ceremonial event. Guided by the “Ayo Bangun NTT” (Let’s Build East Nusa Tenggara) vision, the regional government remains committed to expanding international partnership opportunities to deliver inclusive, sustainable regional development.
